Dr. Sriram Sadagopan obtained his Masters’ and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University. After a brief stint at the Advanced Steel Processing and Products Research Center at Colorado School of Mines, he joined ArcelorMittal where he currently serves as the Group Manager of Applications Technology overseeing R&D activities in the areas of forming, joining, fracture behavior of sheet steels and conducting failure investigations in support of ArcelorMittal’s NA production facilities.
Dr. Sadagopan has been actively involved in conducting applied R&D activities to successfully enable applications of Advanced High Strength Steels in automotive structures. His research interests lie in the areas of sheet metal formability, failure and fracture, constitutive modeling, development and enhancement of CAE and other predictive tools. Over the course of his career, Dr. Sadagopan has co-authored over 40 technical papers and has been active presenter in the Great Design in Steel conferences.
